Facebook rolls out a new, simplified version of Messenger: Messenger 4.
Facebook makes the navigation simpler by having three tabs instead of nine. The conversations — both one-to-one and groups — are front and center in the Chats tab. Messenger 4 will have visual communication features like Camera at the top so users can easily capture and share selfies.
Once in Messenger 4’s People tab, users can find friends, catch up on people’s Stories, and see everyone who is active right now. Then users have the Discover tab, where it can connect with businesses to get the latest deals, play Instant Games, book a vacation, follow the news and more.
Messenger 4 updates chat customizations called color gradients. With this feature, users can now use multiple colors to customize chat bubbles in conversations. Users can see the colors change from red to blue, for example, while scrolling up and down a conversation. Color gradients can be changed any time to reflect the mood or topic of conversation.
It takes time to get used to changes in any app you rely on every day, which is why Facebook is making the changes in 4 phases. They have a handful of new features to introduce in the near future, like Dark Mode, a re-skinned interface that cuts down on the glare from your phone. So just stay tune, and GVGdesign Blog will update you soon.
